Ms Lin Chun — China/UK

Lin Chun was born and brought up in Beijing, and then worked in rural north China before moving to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Later she studied in Cambridge and attained a doctorate in history and political science. She teaches at the LSE since 1995 while keeping a work station at home in China. She writes in historical sociology, political economy and comparative politics - as author of The British New Left (1993), The Transformation of Chinese Socialism (2006), and China and Global Capitalism (2013); and editor of China I, II and III (2000) and co-editor of Is Mao Really a Monster? (2009). Reflections on China’s Reform Trajectory (2008) and Women: The Longest Revolution (1997, co-edited) are among her books in Chinese. Her articles appear in various journals and languages.
